When i enter the meta and select a ship on a planet shipyard, my game simply freezes, doesnt go black it just freezes, and requires me to Task manager then end task to close it, happens every time.

and when it doesnt freeze, every time i try to launch a ship it sends me back to the race selection every time.

Im getting alot of this as well, been asking support this question alot and never get a reply from them on this subject.

Try reinstalling DS .
When you uninstall, make sure you delete all the contents of the DS folder as well as uninstall.

The only support ticket open for this is from the original poster, so not sure who you've been asking or where...
OP: Could you try waiting 20 seconds before clicking the play button to let all the assets load into memory and see if that has any benefitial effect?
If that doesn't work, could you try completely uninstalling DarkSpace and redownloading the latest installer from the downloads section. This will ensure that you have the correct Virtual Studio 2005 binaries installed, which are required for this game to function properly.

Sometimes, when I click on a sy in another system from where the ship is docked, it freezes. I used to do the task manager/quit. But, I found that if you just wait for 20-30 sec's (feels like forever) it unfreeses. Also, a lot of the time it starts out your curser on a place in the map where you ship is not at. When you move the selected planet to the correct place, it causes the freeze. Im guessing its just recaching everything for the new system and there is a delay. Try to wait it out next time. 90% of the time I dont need to close client and reload...

This can happen when you transfer between servers. just pick your faction again.

I tryed everything, resinstalled a few times, waiting about a minute and it unfroze only to free again 10 seconds later, this only happens on meta, scenario's are fine.
