Aye apparently as posted the game is free.
However....
I am staying subbed to continue supporting the game and its servers and internet lines that cost money to run. What is $10 a month anyway? It is only change if you ask me. I want to see the game, its servers, its internet connection stay alive so I am paying. I hope all of you think about it first before hitting the unsub button.
Ive only had my Mod shirt back for a couple of weeks and I am not saying this as a staff member. Maybe I shouldnt be saying it at all to avoid a "bad image". But I feel strongly about it. I read a recent post on someones 8 year birthday in DS and read all the things that he went through and DS was there the whole time to give him an escape. Well the same is damn true for me as well more so then any of you would ever know. I dont want to risk loosing it and I feel I owe it to keep paying

Dudes...Seriously I love you all...
But on a side note I agree with Challenger. Soon as I amass a stable job and all I'll be donating as much as I can as often as possible. This game will still need the donations to keep it up and running and to get improvements along the road.

If it's not an impertinent question, how will darkspace be sustained? Is this a last desperate attempt to get the numbers up, to see if enough people will play if you just give it away? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a freebie as much as anyone - and thank you, by the way - but I'd hate to think it was a case of announcing that drinks are on the house just before you all go down with the Titanic.

No, it is not going to go away. DS has seen smaller numbers in its years. This isnt free drinks before the ship goes down. So let me be the first to squash that right now.
However...
(I love my howevers)
I would not even want to risk the possibility and nothing in this world is free and I am sure Faustus is not made of money. I play the game. I enjoy the game. I consider it a privilage to be here with you all... So I will pay.

It was really hard to convince faustus about it. We night and day waited front of his home, followed him to his job , we were there when his kids gratuated from kinder garden. Finaly he accepted our offer. DS is now free and you have to thank those people who made it posible.

I can only say.... thanks so much!!!!
I can't afford to buy a paid account.... and play "partially" a so wonderful game like this... was a pity....
I agree with Challenger.... if I was able to afford to pay... I had surely subbed for contribute!
