Better have a combo (suite) on your machine for max performance.
Use either Comodo Internet Security or ZoneAlarm® Free Antivirus + Firewall or Outpost Free Security Suite. Its usefulness lays mainly in its ability to block information coming out from your computer. Thus firewall is not essentially necessary if you don't do online commerce.
Besides, parts of antivirus work similarly to some firewal functions, and many suites are actually deactivated neither firewall nor antivirus section. Time after time, the definition and rule will get bigger. So why should we put more weight on our computer? Sometimes, what we need is just a sedan and we buy a tank.

your topic is a weird one because ive had norton internet security since 2010 and now on 2013 and sonar has and i repeat this SONAR HAS NEVER STOPPED ME PLAYING ANY GAMES THUS FAR ... Got it now drop it and move on nothing wrong with norton trust me.
