I am posting this because the GCQL /game update, that others are having issues with was fix by " changing install path to the original"
(C:/program files ) instead of temp or C:/ program files (x86) - This fixed the issue and i hope it helps others.

in windows 7 fix all your troubles by right clicking on DS icon on your desktop goto properties click compatibility tab and check run as admin at bottom and also choose windows xp service pack 3 apply then ok now run it Voila.
