err over time the flux wave doesnt do near the damage of torps and missiles so i dont get what everyone is whining about(flux waves takes like 80 secs to reload).

I'm complaining because 1 torp won't disable 90% of my systems when I have a fraction of the dmg of the enemy ship.

Well, then the solution is simple.

We should add EMP damage to all the torps.

Yeah! That'd fix everything ^_^

well thats an interesting thought...emp damage for all torps...we can all emp our fleets to death and fly circles around eachother with one last functional pulse beam firing ineffectivly at eachother...til some systems repair then get hit again and back to a sputtering pulse beam again sounds like fun ... hehe it could take hours to destroy a ship...lol

Or we could simply accept the fact that Flux is once again the king of it's field, and living up to it's purpose: Frying systems. Nuff said IMHO.

Why not make flux a hvy armor gadget, sounds funny i know, but it kinda balances it. I.e. anyone carrying flux will do so at the expensive of their staying power. It would also be the first component to get damaged in a fight. Using it would require good timing and fluxing too close to friends with flux would render theirs inoperable.

(p.s. also, take hvy armor away from kluth, give them, lets say, 'regenerative armor' instead. This would kinda fix the faction specific problem at the same time.)

I say make flux do absolutely no damage to hull, minimal damage to armor, and most of its damage to systems. This will take out its effectiveness to cripple a full health ship, but a finishing blow to a ship under constant fire.

And lets make it, instead of just a simple n00b button press, a bunch of key combinations strung together giving the user absolutely no hope for getting it off. Should they try, and succeed, there will be a 20% base chance of a random malfunction in the EMP shielding on the ship (read: a large, unesplained kaboom taking the ship, the crew, maybe a neighboring fleetmate, and possibly an orbited planet with said ship), and this is where the dynamic factor comes in, the part I call the Lamer Factor.

A counter goes into your profile to counter your part in theLamer Factor, and tracks how much flux you use, and in what quantities. The more you use, the higher the Lamer Factor will go, and the greater the chances of the above mentioned EMP malfunction.

And, for those who tempt fate and choose to roll the dice more than once, twice, and dare I say it? Thrice!, your Lamer Factor will just go up, and it will be only a matter of time before it goes up. Get it too high, and when it *pops*, you might be hit with a 3-day ban, and told you think about your actions.

??? con-fuze-edd...

i made my self the most uber flux ship i could. 8 flux wave, 5 flux cannons. i then tested it on a teammate. armor when down to 30%, no system damage. the was a luth dread i fire on/with, the weakest of all factions (defence). unless FF does less that full damage i do not see a problem here.
