hmmm......
Google, looking for piloting/strategy/action/space games
actually dwnloaded a few games that day, like Aces High
but this was the only game with coupons and a chat room  so i stayed
oddly enough, never ran into EvE .. not that i would've tried it

Heard about it from a friend. He got it from a site I believe. First time I tried it was in december 2003. Forgot about the game, then I found 2 of them for sale at gamestop and bought them. Been here since then.

When Cosmic Rift (think Subspace with 1998 graphics) went Pay2Play about a dozen or so space combat titles came up. DS and Jumpgate sucked up a large portion of those willing to pay (Subspace did the non payers) monthly. Depthcharge was in the same squad with me [Pours out some beer for the Messengers] and came over here while I stayed - off and on - in Cosmic Rift & a few other games. Had tried it out when DS went P2P but didn't get involved enough. Came back to it about the time when 481 came out, bout a month or two before - and the rest is history

It was 2001, Dec I believe, I was running on an old computer and DS was the best thing it would handle. Unfortunalty, that comp died not long after that and sence this was before the day I learned to write anything down I lost my original account. See, it was 6 months before I got a new computer and I almost didn't reinstall DS on it. But I did, started a new account cause I could not remember the old name AND/OR password, and have been happy ever sence.
OH...and MMORPG.com was where I got it from...both times.
