Win2000 - Crash after restoring minimized game |

Hi,
I'm using a Dell Pentium III running Win2000 Professional with a nVidia Geforce 2 card.
Whenever the game is minimized (due to something like getting an ICQ message or something like that) and I restore the window, the computer restarts. No error message, no warning.

i do not have a concrete solve for your problem except this one
most of the time i close all other program`s like ICQ and then start the game
the few time i forget it, DS minimalizes for the incoming ICQ-message and i can re-enter the game with no problem

I have the same problem and I'm using Windows 2000, too.

Reboots are done on the driver level, look for a better driver for your graphics card.
I would get the same thing with some older drivers.

Bumblebee - yes, I know, I usually do, but it's really annoying when once in a while I forget to quit said programs and my computer reboots without warning.
Faustus - they're the most recent available drivers for the Geforce2 from nVidia's site. Only way to get more updated drivers would be to hack into their dev. computers or find a leaked one.

I experience this problem too, get a blue screen wite a short error message followed by instant reboot..
Happens with GeForce 2 GTS 32mb on Windows 2000 Professional with Nvidia 12.41 driver set.
Only reliable way I know how to crash Windows 2000 is by running DarkSpace and ALT-TABBING to the desktop. A feature or a bug?

have you tried disabling AGP fastwrite?
Or 4*AGP ? (2* is much "safer")

I use a PIII700 320mb creative GeForce Pro in Win2K pro.
When I use the nvidia drivers I always have switching problems, but when I install the creative drivers ...no problems to be found ..
In my case its a driver problem for sure.
