I've got a beat old P2 500, AMD K6
Matrox 220 Mystique 4 meg
Monster 3d2 accelerator (8meg)

Video will not initialize, I have the most current drivers. Any suggestions? This is my back up system, my primary works fine.

yeap that's old... DarkSpace requires your video card to support atleast DirectX 8.x... and last time i checked your Monster 3D 2 is a Voodoo 2 made by 3dfx, that was bought out by nvidia sometimes back... and since 3dfx isn't in business anymore they don't update their drivers at all... so their lastest offical ones im guessing would still be trying to use DirectX 7.0... i've seen some newer 3dfx drviers online that ppl have hacked together to work, but don't expect it to be stable or actually work for all games...

so im guessin your video hardware is simply not up-to-date enough to play DarkSpace... if you could find a cheap newer video card like TNT2 and up you'll most likely have a better chance getting it to work...

EDIT: also Diamond Multimedia who used to make those Monster 3D cards doesn't update their drivers really anymore either... i believe they have moved on to making modems and sound cards only these days...

Thanks for the heads up. It's only my back up system, so I'll keep my eye's open for some cheapy video card for it.
