outtake from the BIS employee contract
Feel free to use this as a guideline and to tailor it to suite your fleets

Making treaty’s

Making cease fire with enemy’s can be difficult.

No one says that any kind of treaty should last forever.

Cease fire:
Short term contract that can be made with in systems and with effect immediately.

All ranks can initiate cease fires.

Those that initiate this is bound to inform all fleets active at the time on their side about the cease fire.

1.in what system it is in effect.
2.the time frame for the cease fire.
3.who it was made with contact commander on other part of the agreement.

Cease fire and help only to exist in the system in question and for max 12 hours from the cease fire have been agreed on.

Alliance and treaties:
Alliances can only be made by fleet commanders or leaders.

They have more strict rules and are harder to break.

Alliances should always be public and followed up by statements to read by using the proper channels in this case the diplomacy bulletin.

To end alliance or treaty public statement should be made declaring the alliance to end from both parties.

For both forms of agreements:
Security’s should be given in form of planets, ships or credits.

From active helping an enemy to keep or retake an system, regard that system and surrounding ones as off limits for the given time period of 6 hours to 12 hours and by that show respect for the treaty or cease fire that was in effect.

Com channels should be open at all time for the treaties or cease fires for the full length of the treaty.

We expect the other part in any treaty to do the same.
After time period are over, all is back to status quo.

Each treaty should be followed up by those that make them.

If they can’t manage to get their respective fleets to follow it they should take the consequences of not being able to manage this task.
