I never knew that we had to use report for connect usages. (Where are these things posted? How am I supposed to know about this?!?) Not that I play in the MV alot, but when I do I find I usually end up stuck in a gate 30% of the time. I've never used report before and I hope if I've been punished (I don't remember ever noticing anything) it wasn't too seriously since I always used connect when stuck. I realize there's a lot that's being worked on, but people say that in life, love and war, communication is the key. You really need to come up with a good way to post such important pieces of information and to make significant changes to the manual.

You read the RoC?!?!?!
3.3 g.
Improper use of /CONNECT command
Description: Use of the /CONNECT command to escape from combat or for an unfair advantage to quickly traverse the game system.
Why Its an Exploit: The command was implemented in preparation for the shipyard feature and allow users stuck in the gates to unstick themselves. It was not intended to be used as a shortcut across the game system or to escape from dieing. Such use gives an unfair advantage in the game and is abusing a command meant to ease connection problems.

Yeah, but, er, it says nothing about /report. Which was his point.

Wake up dude!!!!! People do not read your ROC daily. If people read it at all, it is when they join up and they probably never re-read it. It is YOUR responsibility to get this information out. Players cant be expected to go thru every forum, checking every post every couple of days to figure out what new zanny rules and changes you have come up with. You guys have a real communication problem.
I am also sorry you mods are sooooooooooo busy you cant deal with /reports and sound like its really a bother to you. Well you volunteered to do it so deal with it. Remember you want to "help people", thats why you all say you are mods. So stop whining about /reports.

Nauf, you are the single most unpleasant person I've encountered in my year of playing DarkSpace, Goth and Yule included. In fact, you lead them by miles.
Would you please stop bashing the mods and the entire concept of mods?

Well.. we announced that for a week in the MessageOfTheDay in the lobby and gameservers, there even was a link in it to this posting. What else should we do ?
Guess how annoyed you´d be by a popup at every logon...

how about put it in your NEWS section so it stays up for a couple of months? I believe that has been suggested many times by various people.

Think a moment about that... "Why aren´t RoC changes announced in the standard news on the main-page ?".
Having announced those changes in the MOTD, which got shown to you everytime you joined a game or the lobby should´ve been way more effective ?
Also, you still didn´t explain this one to me:Quote:

I don't recall seeing a RoC chance in the MOTD.

Message of the day:
New changes to the Rules of Conduct...
Please read the exploitation section (3.3) in the RoC as it contains the following update:
Players are no longer allowed to issue commands to AI transports. They are
getting abused in game play in both AI farming, scouting, etc.
Player use of the /report command...
We have had alot of players abusing the /report command lately, don't do it.
This is a tool for you to get immediate help from the staff. More info here.
Play fair, play honest, have fun!
