That's a little difficult if you can't fire in the first place. If a dessie is heading away from you at top speed the 'real' maximum range of AM torps is 130 gus.

heh heh, okay i agree with captain caveman and his bro Darksworde i have fought with them and they do a good job of Nuke mining omg they are excellent they ask me to do them a favor i do it i am a good AM mining pilot as well hehe 9 AM mines on an MD can destroy a Ganglia 25 AM mines can destroy a scout to cruiser however AM Mines have Major Splash damage Effect of 100GU and judgeing by this post i have seen flame after flame from Lark and she is not right and specter is not right

Fusion Torp
800 for Stations
750 Gu for Dreads
600 GU for Cruisers
500 for Dessies
250 for Scouts
See neither of you are right cause i know what im talkin about here. they target at different GU's depending on the size of the ship Dreads cant Dodge FTorps cause well they are sooo slow and lanky

Stations cant move at all so they have an increased Range of Targetablilty.


and AM torps are good i love them and the splash damage now Mix 2 of each you have the deadlyest Cruiser/Dread of all.

Now my Tactic is simple, go at Full speed and wait until they unload 2 Alphas on you and then they run out of Energy and when that happens Slow down and Turn and then you alpha them when this happens the CL2K's Kill their Hull and the Torps will do the rest

In my AD i have it Modded with 4 CL2K's, 7 AM Torpedoes. and 4 CL550's

that will kill them. my Station 8 Disrupters, 8 AM Torpedoes, and 4 Larvae


thats a dread killer/hive killer

oook, if im so *wrong* as everyone keeps asking, please answer the following question: why do i do so good with them? why does 48% of ICC do so good with them?

ive asked this question in most of my replys. i have yet to get an answer. i wonder why.

i should probably also point out that when it comes to warfare, everyones usually right and wrong: each tactic has its upside and downside, so why dont we all just shuddup and get over eachother since were all right and all wrong? AM torps are slow and pretty annoying to get a hit on smaller ships (and surprise surprise, the splash dmg wont actually do as much as a fusion torp hit), however, theyre excellent against the heavier ships. fusion torps are good for getting a hit on smaller craft, but their reduced dmg per torp makes them a pain against stations/dreads.

call me *wrong* all u like, the fact remains i can kill 4-5 dessies in a row in a fleet movement without dying using fusion torps. i have yet to see AM torps manage that. funnily enough AM torps are also MUCH easier to dodge, u can dodge them at a speed of 9 gu whereas fusion torps require 15gu + speed. just thought id mention that

Actually, this started out to become a topic were we "share" tactics on how to destroy k'luth dessie, then it somehow turned into a arguement about how Ftorps are better then AM Torps and so on...

Anyhoo, each tactics are good, if you use it well...

Um. I could say lots of things with regards to your post Lark, however (Unless you ask nicely) i wont post it. Lets just leave it as, u think what u think and some of us have a difference of opinion. Everyone has a right to this and remember, the initial post was aimed at new players, not veterans, hence why it was posted in the New Players and Tactics forum.

PS - Its a heated Discussion, not an arguement
