why not just put a SD system in since it is like a weapon should do it so you can only sd if the system is undamaged

That would be a splendid idea. Leaving SD only an option for people who have gotten stranded, not to use maliciously to deprive their killer of his rightly earned kill.
You're commanding a ship with hundreds of lives aboard, you get into a battle and escape.
"This is your captain speaking. Sorry fellas, but a bunch of stuff is broken and rather than fix it, I'd rather just kill us all!"
And all you people saying that you SD just to piss people off when they outnumber you make me sick to the stomach. A kill is earned no matter if it is a group kill or solo. If you die, then someone did their fair share to kill you and they deserve credit. Next thing you'll be screaming is that every ship below destroyer doesn't deserve to credit as a kill because it's so small compared to a cruiser. I mean, that's sort of like outnumbering someone, isn't it?!
