problem is,you can´t "enforce" people to speak english only,not only would you close the door to many "possible" new costumers,but there is simply no way you could get this through,what could you do against a fleet of say,french speakers ? they coord their attacks in open chat and stuff,and what can you do ? nothing,to forbid them to speak ther language is to forbid them to play the game at all,you can "ASK" them to use the Fleet chat or a specialy created one,but that about all.
You can ask others to respect you,but you can´t demand them to give up on something that is part of themself.
i am playing Online games now for around 6 years,and i yet have to see a game that would dare or even make it that far to enforce the players to speak only english.
Its all about respect,if one can´trespect you,ignore/report him,its the only way you get something done.

Nimilia, you are right, you can't enfocre ppl to learn english aswell as english, but english is the most common language in DS at the time, yet some ppl still use there native languages, because its easier. They should do that freely instead of being derogatated by someone who only speaks english.
If you (some DS-player) only spoke french, and you played on the FA-server, you would have a hard time getting along, if not someone else who speaks french would explain it to you, and help coordinate your attacks with the fleet.
That is why we shouldnt try and say "This is an english game, so we only speak english"
Those who only understand english should get a translation if they ask for one, or just a note saying its for someone else

p.s. Ich weiss dass dies ein alter Thread ist, aber es gab nie eine Enscheidung über dies, und ich würde sehr gerne einen sehen, damit ich wenigstens mit meinen Flottenkameraden in ruhe reden kann im öffentlichem Chat.
