Never underestimate how far a player would go to get a medal.
I'd like to see 1 year anniversary medals in DS. One year after you created your profile, you get this medal. Wouldn't really do very much in game (As far as ship availability, but it would give players something to strive for). It would hopefully encourage players to remain with DS for longer than 1-2 months. 8)
This also shouldn't require much work to institute.

It might also help break the stigma of being called a n00b all the time--or am I the only one that has this problem? I like it though, but what about those who just sit in the lobby for a year?

you get that text in-game and it Says you have aquired it and i think one other badge, you can check to see if you ahve these by looking at your in-game profile. The text should be there.

Bronze Star is called Sirius combat ingame.
Sirius Combat isnt used atm.
