-How about once you release a mine its friendly for one min then it activates and then Becomes what a true Mine is .. Deadly for anyone that trys to pass.

__this would suck if you dont watch out for your Fleet,

__but it would teach people to respect the #number of mines they lay

Doesn't this already happen?

I recall a number of occasions when playing on FA, where I'd be the only one using an ICC Minelayer ship... I'd drop mines in the course of combat, and then upon returning to the area with a fresh load, I would occasionally run into red nuke mines, the very same nuke mines I dropped...

It's fairly impossible for UGTO to be dropping them, so I'm pretty sure they do go hostile after a while.

If you go into the gate or die without detonating any mines you have dropped, they turn into enemy mines for everyone.

And, FYI, after 15 minutes mines detonate by themselves.
