Agreed, dictors should not be faction specific. this is a POWERFULL effect and should encompass all. I am thinking that whatever creats it should be nuetral and variing in size.

@jediknight
let me correct you... the imperial interdictor cruiser class doesnt even have the size of an imperial class stardestroyer (which is about 1.4 km long) .. i think its about 500 to 600 meter ... it only have 4 giant reactors to generate a mass field which causes ships to drop out of the hyperspeed... thats what i remember from the x-wing games...

while we're dicussing dictors.. some stuff here. dictors work by simulating planetary gravity (as far as jumpdrives are concerned anyway) or by increaseing the gravity well of a nearby planet, thus requireing ships to be even farther than normal from the planet to jump.
-topic in general-
*points at daylights post* what he said
@hellgremlin-- that outta give def bases a work out. proably easier to sneak bombs in that way =)
@the tachyon field posts-- instead a dictor field, hows about a 'cone' (or wedge in this case since we only have X and Y) of area where jdrives wont work. maybe something on the order of 200-250gu wide at 1000gu range. (not gonna do the math to figure out what degree of a angle that would be)

Don't assume that other science-fiction universes have any bearing whatsoever upon DarkSpace.
