Only got one thing to say:
Don't play with my gameplay, game is great as it is now, hull values have already been doubled, no need for more nerfing on this side. As for anyone that thinks you can die too fast, you aint seen nothing.

We have, and it's the model we are currently working towards in our refit of DS.
However, reading the comments in this thread is helpful because it helps us shape the path we have decided to take.

I would like to see stations have a bit more firepower and/or stronger hull so that no dread can ever destroy a station one on one as is possible right now.
btw, I have an idea..what if stations only were allowed to use the connect command in the MV to get around better??

4.
Personaly I'd like to see some sort of soild ratio between ship classes, I.E. it should take "x" number of one class to Kill/Disable "y" class. I'd also like to see more diversity between the Races. right now there is very little difference between our tech. More specialization would be nice.

You do realize, Bad, that that Idea would make about half of the DS ships for both sides useless, right?

Exactly Lupino, thats why I wrote the reply. Everyone wants a "realistic" game but if it was made truly realistic it would be rather arcadish, with ships exploding left and right.
BTW I vote for 1) since combat is already like this for me.

Number 5...yep 5 is a good one.
Shipyards would be a good thing to add for the bigger ships that way you wouldnt have 25 dreads puttering around all the time. Have the jump gates only allow you to take supply, construction, light transports and up to destroyer hulls while the ship yards build the other stuff.

5, definatley... dreads are way to weak in the hull and I would keep jumps the same it allready takes a while to jump

About modern naval combat...
actually... the damage missile do is heavily dependant on the fuel they have remaining... in the Falklands Conflicts, the Brits almost lost a ship to a missile whose warhead didnt even detonate...

i vote 5. making dreads harder to kill would be more realistic. you never saw one small corvette take out an imperial star destroyer have you? i rest my case. realism makes it more challenging.

Scenario (if it survives post 1481/1482) should be 1.
Scenario is pure instant action, no RTS skill required, just a quick trigger finger. Scenario servesra re Quake-in-Space™ games, try to make them different is just showing pure lack of common sense.
For MV, 5 all the way. Make it realistic, scouts get taken out in milliseconds while Dreadnoughts/Stations can take 10-30 minutes depending on the situation, While Dreads may not be able to every round in a destroyer they do get hits in and a Dread should pop a destroyer in milliseconds like a destroyer can drop a scout, think about it. A desrtoyer to a dreadnought is the same scale level a scout to a destroyer, there is no contest there in a realistic enviroment.
That would make DS perfect for everyone. Want instant no skill required Quake-in-Space™ action, play on FA. Want realism to the max in a persistent enviroment thats constantly changing, play the MV. Either way, you get your money's worth. And it really pays off for the vast majority of us who likes both Q-i-S™ games and realistic type games in the MV.
