Well we all know about dictor fields stop u at 1000 gu when u jump in and prevent u from escaping once ur within range.
I am proposing that a countermeasure be developed against this an anti dictor.The range for this device is 600 gu i have a few ideas on how this would work.
1. a friendly ship equipped with the device would get within 600 gu of the enemy dictor then target the ship and activate a jamming device that disrupts the dictor field allowing friendlys to escape.
once the device is turned off the effects still last for about 8 seconds allowing the jamming ship to escape.

2. a special projectile fired from a cannon that sticks onto the enemy dictor ship like a beacon and disrupts the dictor field (this version is more effective because it works right at the source of the dictor field; the device itself.) this lasts for 30 seconds.

3.specially equipped anti dictor EW aircraft flys within range disrupts the dictor in addition to jamming its sensors.

4.Smart Weapon goes through the enemy ships armor goes to where the device should be and destroys it.

5.very simple board dictor ship with infantry the infantry will automatically send a squad to put satchel charges on the dictor field generator and destroy it.

Any suggestions?

Grab 2 assault scouts, fly close to the dictor, activate scanners.
Then you see the interdictor device, can target it, shoot some torps at it and it's disabled.

Only problem I see is the anti-dictor device would become common, and shortly after that interdictor ships and bases wouldn't be used anymore. Why use them if they don't do anything?

If it worked similar to ECM/ECCM, where you can have more dictor/anti dictor field than the enemy, then perhaps this would be good? Maybe give a dictor field a 'field strength' the way ECM has a 'strength' to it's signature raise, and the anti dictor field does the opposite?

That way, if you try hard enough, you can take down the enemy's dictor field, and if they try hard enough they can circumvent your anti-dictor field.

just scrap the interdictor as a cruiser and put it in the command dread
and add 25 + sig if its on

k'luth stil wil use the interdic cruiser but the must be decloaked and have a +10 sig

thats all i have to say about the interedictor qeustions

kluth should be able to have the interdictor when cloaked with no sig, but not fire any weapons, apart from auto point defence, if that at all?
