I had posted in the dictor poll thread to change the device so that it uses jump fuel, not at ridiculous rates but enough that a dictor must be carefully and strategically placed. It makes sense to me that the interdictor device should be powered BY the jump drive of the ship. I also think that the drive either, cannot recharge until the device is off, or add a function that immediately takes the device online and damages it but initiates a 15 second emergency jump. Shift I maybe?

Then again I'm also still baffled that interdictor fields are faction specific, I don't understand why they don't trap all ships. But thats not the point of the post.

Suggestions?

Much like my Garage Door opener doesn't open my neighbors garage door...perhaps the ICC Interdictor utilizes a modulating Frequency that other ICC ships are in tune with.

But no suggestions really, other than keeping it they way it is...

Well, the interdictor says it creates some kind of gravity disturbance, not some kind of energy field, so it technically should stop all ships, because gravity affects everything.

Yeah, but its really annoying to have your own teammates stop you dead when you need to run for it.

It was tried way in the past, and it puts a serious damper on the fun.

But then again, it would limit dictor usage even more, as it would require more teamwork and communication than we tend to have and people probably wouldn't bother to use it.
It would also likely result in more FF kills.

There is a big problem with that idea that a dictor could stope their own fractions ships. I thank the dictor is nice the way it is. It already has the bigest dissadvantage. It is the number one target for the enemy unless there is a station. I know that when I get cought in a dictor field that I go after the sorce first as to help the rest of the fraction get into the area. Not to mention the fact that it has hardly no weapons or deffensive power.Thats all I had to say.

Except for Monty's Anti-Gravity Pants, and every single person on board each ship....unless they are weightless, but I am assuming that "Anti-Gravity/Anti-Inertia" technology has been discovered counteracts the forces of gravity

Which would then mean that gravity doesn't affect everything.

The dicters fine the way it is except it would be nice if u got prestige for dictering enemy ships. Like a Ships interdicted prestige or something. I imagine if that were to happen thered be more dicters used.
