Just a quick question. There are a LOT of things that I don't like in this game, balance things, realism things, etc. I could list them all, but I just wanted to mention each aspect when I felt it was necessary.

Just a quick suggestion/question. Why aren't ship designs more defined? I mean, the AD, it's just a bigger version of the AC. Seems the only ships we have are combat combat combat MINELAYER combat combat DICTOR combat SUPPLY. You get the picture. Why do we not follow the real naval doctrine and field ships with real strategic value? Ie, a decent gunship, maybe a dreadnaught class, fielding 10 or more weapon slots, very few lasers (Maybe 4 normals) And very few heavy weapons (2 heavies or something). Some of you may say it's unbalanced. But think about this, the BD is similar to this, and it couldve been a gunship, but then all these irrelevent weapons and fighters were added.

I'd suggest ships such as...
Better Carriers
More powerful and useful Gunships
Better Missile Boats
Defense Vessels (PD)
More defined Minelayers

Better and more organised than ships that have similar names and weapons, I'd say. No two ships should be compared to each other.

i agree and disagree. Yes the ships should be more defined in weapons and in Ship design too. The AD/EAD is basically and upgraded version of the AC/TC. But i dont think by taking away/adding weapons will improve that. IDK what im getting at but yeah you have a good point.

Why shouldn't ICC invent a larger version of their most successful ship (AC -> AD), makes sense to me

Pity the game isnt built to make you and only you happy huh?

In 1.482 EVERY ship in the game is having its loadout changed so this topic is somewhat mute...

#6 will actually be some time post 1.482.



Anyways, attempting to diversify ship layouts and making ships have more of a niche within a fleet was one of the goals of v1.482. I can't say yet whether I acheived that goal (need a live beta test to begin first), but I think I got us much closer than now.
