I'm sure those cannons are gonna be changed. Faustus has a new beta he needs to upload yet.
No way they're staying the way they are now! Holy cow my ICC sensor scout can take down dreads all by itself without having to reload! When I add 1 emp cannon in place of the beacon...yikes!

I think hes just trying to eliminate 2 people being able to kill a planet. With the new system bombing will still be possible but with a few more ships needed.
