Help installing client! |

Alright I installed the client version 1.476 and I got that installed right. Now when I go to Darkspace server and it starts downloading From "Mirror-server.PaleStar.com: 9101" As soon as it start I get an error that Shows "Failed to save C:Program FilesPaleStarDarkSpaceSystem98.dll.upd to Disk!" ....What does this mean. Did I do something wrong or did I not download it all right?...Cant someone explain why this happened?

Looks like the auto update isn't finding the correct directory. Did you install DS to that directory?

I dont undertand.. I downloaded it onto my desktop then installed it in Drive C...What directory do I need to install it in for it to work properly?

Hrrm there goes my best shot at tech trouble shooting  Sorry.
You might want to do a complete uninstall and download from a different source.

So I uninstall then which client to I install and in what directory or drive to I installl it in to get it to work?

From what you have posted sounds like it installed in the correct folder. If you uninstalled allready, reinstall, if you get the same error msg , go to the data folder and delete all files. Once that is done when it goes to update it should replace all files needed tho if your on dialup it will take awhile, hope your broadband.

I have window XP...Me dad has Adiministrative privalges and I cant delete anything...Another way around?

Why should I do to get this client version to work right...Could someone type down a list of what to do when Installing in windows...
I have had continous problems with Installing...First it was the iKernel.exe then its this.. Help me find a way to get it working..

Well, you probably dont have rights needed, if you cant delete you probably cant wright to the drive. You need access to the drive for DS to work. I assume to get DS installed you had your dad do the installation, well if so, thats what needs to be done here as well. Basically the easiest thing to do is for your XP acct to be given FULL read and Write access.

That's the problem right there.
You installed DS correctly, but you can't then access the HD to write when you start the game on your account.
As for getting your dad to give you admin access, have him start up his account and modify your user profile.

your father just needs to give you priveleged access, not full admin rights, privledged will let you install software and write to the registry...
The reason your install fails is that .DLL's are dynamic link libraries. And without access to write to the registry, they will not be registered, hence, you can not use them...
