Runtime Error!
Program: C:Program FilesPalestarDarkSpaceGCQL.exe


abnormal program termination



Thats the error that pops up, can't even get into the lobby, any ideas on fixing that?

I think you might need to reinstall...

Check for any files ending with .UPD in the DarkSpace directory (usually C:/program Files/Palestar/DarkSpace). Remove the old file, and remove the UPD extention (i.e. File.dll.upd -> File.dll) to make that the current DLL.

I was having a similar problem. I don't know if the cause was identical, given the generic error message, but a debugging session showed my problem was an uncaught exception from attempting a registry write.

I solved the problem by starting the client as Administrator. This was only required for the first login--I can now run it at my usual privilege level.

Unfortunately I'm not sure how this problem was created in the first place.

Hm yes, old issue that DS needs admin rights for installation. Maybe there'll be a way to fix that...
