Just want to ask if this would help the lag situation in the MV: Close the scenario servers. Divert all power to the MV. The MV is unplayably laggy in battles with 10-15 ships or above and with some battles having above 50 ships, it seems like the servers can't handle the load.

Since this is the focus of the game now, would it make sense to divert all power to it? Obviously something has to change or there is little point to playing right now until the lag gets better.

Faustus admitted as much in the lobby discussion earlier today:

17:37:45 [Admin]Faustus: "basically, most of the machines are 1.6 ghz single cpu machines... 2 duel processor machines (800 mhz each CPU)... then the other 2 duel processor machines are running the metaserver and the website.."

Or can some rich guy buy Faustus some new servers? I know there has to be a few people that play this game that are filthy rich....

Could be a nice investment. Any thoughts?

Word!

Scenario doesnt really work with the new shipyard systems anyway and people who play in the Scen servers for the combat can get it from in the MV trough Shipyards just as easily.

Keeping the Newbie server might not be a bad idea, seeing as it somewhat usefull

Also do player servers use up any resources? Like by communicating with the metaverser or something?
Disabling these might be a bad idea either, Halos is the only player can run a usefull server anyway.

Down with the Lag!

Agreed ... the Newbie server should stay for the Mods to help cultivate new victims ... er players.

The MV is what this game is all about.

Pull the plug Faustus .... add all the horsepower you got to the MV.

Agreed, the Other serves besides like one or two need to go, Grand Admiral has to go, its taking way to much power to run, so plug in all the power to the MV

I agree with all this.

But as for the newbie server, maybe it should go too? Why not throw the n00bs in with everyone else? Like that time my dad taught me to swim by throw me in the lake...after the EMS came, I read the manual.

Anyways, n00bs can learn easier, and the play between scenario servers and the MV is a bit different now, so they may be learning different things. They would be useful to run smaller ships anyways, and the vets can help teach them, because there is a very high concentration of vets there.

I fully support that idea var.Its getting pathetic in mv.Stering gets stuck evry few minutes , if there is a big battle its almost imposible to not get laged. In my whole carrier ive only once hit planet while dogfighting and it was to tragic on ds asia servers a year ago.But wait ive just hit cydex while e jumping from some noob....due to lag :/

I though all scenario servers except newbie where going to be dropped with the launch of the beta. I think this would be a good idea anyway, to push more players into the real thing the MV. Has this idea been dropped ?

We should keep the Newbie Server(umm will it be the new demo server or the demo server will be reactivated after the Free trial is done?

Bad Idea, I usualy create a server when I nead to test something in a controled environment. And i think it does connect to the metaserver but it's not a cause for the lag

Hold a fundraiser in your community: "Help stop the Lag in DarkSpace!" to buy Faustus some new servers.

I'm sure Rogue's already hard at work on this, hop to it Varz, you slacker.

Down with Lag!

Get rid of Grand Admiral server, its a complete waste. Besides, Darkspace should have been made all MV awhile ago .
