I would like to suggest a few changes to the current shipyards that will fix certain problems;

Building Ships
Whenever someone picks a ship in a shipyard and clicks "Command" he should get a small popup box like in the tutorials display the ship they are building, a progress bar a timer and the % of hull that has been completed.

IF there are enemy ships within 750 GU of the planet a user should get a warning informing him of this and that it might be safer to use a different Shipyard.
The user should then be able to click “Build Ship” or “Change Spawn”.

If the user hits Build Ship then the ship should appear is orbit 100% transparent with all ship gadgets destroyed.
The ship then slowly becomes 0% transparent. The time this takes would depend on the ship class. The ship gadgets would repair during this time.
The player can control the ship once it has been completed.
While this is happening drones should come out of the shipyard and should fly around the ship like supply drones do.
If possible they should have blue engine trails instead of green.

Deconstructing Ships
Ships take time to get build so they should also take time to be taken apart.
It never made much sense that a big dreadnought could fit in such a tiny shipyard.

Once someone hits the dock button the ship should enter orbit and the user should lose control.
Drones should then come out of the shipyard and should fly around the ship like supply drones do. (If possible they should have blue engine trails instead of green as well)
The ship now fades from 0% to 100% Transparent.

Taking your ship apart should go faster then putting it together to prevent the deconstruction progress from getting really boring.

During both De- and Construction your ship can be shot and destroyed.
There is nothing you can do against being shot because you have no control over your ship.
Lets see people pulling out new ships every 30 seconds during an attack now

Suggested something like this but then called it docking time.

basicly you would get messages like " Airlock secred" or "Docking clamps locked" and a timer that depends on size..
