If any of you have heard of nano-bots you would know that they are microscopic robots. The equivalent we all know of is “repair drones” the Kluth technology. But it is a factual a technology even now being researched, and I had this awesome idea.

This idea could be given to both human factions or just the ICC so they would have a better time of repairing with their immensely slow Support Vehicles. The more advanced support vehicle, more specifically.

The idea is simple and I have chose out of laziness not to go into much detail, but what I was thinking about was a sort of Repairing Missile. A missile without a warhead or maybe a beacon that would slam into a friendly hull and like a tick bury its head inside the armor from its momentum.

The place were usually a warhead is smashed and detonated is filed with nano-bots in which contain the ship specifications of all known ICC ships. Since the ICC seem to be “acquiring” Kluth technology one could easily make this connection to their repair drones...again...but how it would work is the nano-bots cannot create more armor or anything,
(Unless the vehicle is being supported in which the repair speed doubles) but will cut whatever damage is present in half. They do this by taken the excess shrapnel useless wire and floating debris and even frayed edges of damaged parts and breaking them down and reforming them into useful armor and or ship components.

That's basically my idea, now its time for you to flame me to cinders.

as long as this doesnt go to the excess like in allegiance with the "nanite trains", which essentially killed gameplay, why not.

A not-so-good idea, but a rather good concept.

I always had the idea of having fighters with minature reloads. Say, 50-100 reload points per fighter, and the reloading can only repair hull and refuel, and MAYBE reload small ammunition such as Gauss Pellets, Railgun bullets, AR missiles, and Psi Missiles.

They would go to their target, fly around (or be still) while sending their drones to do the repairing/reloading, than retreive drones and proceed to head back to their Mothership.

The concept of a quick fix is however intersting.

Why not make a new kind of infantry... the engineer.
Main purpose.

To quickly heal/fix ship systems or buildings on a planet.
they do not stand a good chace against even regular inf.

that could help getting stranded ships a jump start

I'll second that.
However engis should be "used up" in the process.

Yah sup ships could use a little upgrading, definitely. Something with (very) limited uses that could maybe repair like 5-10% on a dread would be cool.

Then again, supply ships aren't meant for in-combat repairs, they're meant to act as a M.A.S.H. team.
