I have an idea about the use of credits in DarkSpace.

What if the number of planets your fleet captured in the MV is how your fleet recieves its credits.

For Example:

A planets is captured and its morale is high. This planet will output 10,000 credits per hour to the fleet administrator. Then the fleet admin can distribute the money to his fleet members accordingly. The reason behind giving the money to the fleet admin is it gives the abilities to "buy" certain players. Almost like sports.

Fleet members can now be under a salary, as an admin you can pay more money to your more important and active players. The idea behind this is it will promote more activity in the MV from newbies and vets alike.

This means that an active fleet no matter its prestige size will have power in DarkSpace.

Example: S.W 32 planets in 5 systems, GTN: 2 planets in 1 system.

[-GTN-]Tbone needs money, hes the only active GTN member. Juxtapose offers 2,000,000 credits.

Fleet Admin [S.W]Juxtapose buys Tbone for 2,000,000 million credits.

Think about it and give me your imput!

Need's a lot of polish but I like the idea. It could allso be worked into the political side of things as that develops.

I really hope that this idea goes through somehow, however I don't want to see this deteriorate to a NHL/MLB level, where only the 'big market' fleets can win by signing seemingly unlimited 'free agents'.

So this is indeed a great idea, but it needs to be worked on .

I really really like this idea. Superman your a genious! This means that the only way to cash in on the big bucks is to join a fleet. Other wise those fleetless nobodies cough...Josef....cough. Will have to sell space junk to earn a living.

Superman you rock!

I love it too if the reverse is also added:

Say, my Fleet [S.W] has a few too many players and I am looking to make some easy cash by liquidating one. Instead of putting out an album of Greatest Hits, I take [S.W]Superman by the scruff of its cape and put him on the Auction Block.

The [GER] finding themselves one Bavarian short an Invasion, offer $10,000 for [S.W]Superman . . . but suddenly, [Dev] Team counters the offer with promises of lag reduction for [S.W] members and a cool $10,010.

Going once!

Going twice!

Going three times!

Sold To the [Dev] Team member with the unpronouncable name: one subscribed yet inactive Player known as [Dev]Superman.

That way Big fleets can both feed off of smaller fleets and feed them. Just think how exciting it would be if my Fleet could corner the market on Rogue Spear clones!

We already got two!

One planet could give a fleet a LOT of credits....

And I'm worth more then 2 million...

More like 2,000,100!

I think the value of Rogue Spear clones has been overestimated....

Interesting idea though. Perhaps all credits earned by a fleet go directly into a fleet admins personal treasury, or is split if there are more than one. Therefore, if a fleet buys a new member, that member is the indentured servant of the buying member/fleet for a given amount of time...?

I can just see myself sending my cheap Rogue Spear clones and Tbone to do my bidding....

So what happens when u have 1000000000000000000 credits?
Cause that is what would happen if 1 planet pumped out credits like that. If a already big fleets like GTN or PB had like 50 planets, thats 5000000 credits an hour or 120 million a day???????????? thats pretty silly......

Come on Seraph, if that happened, then clearly our currency would be devauled, meaning that before when I said Rogue Spear was worth a $10,000 Credits... that was his value when I only had $5,000,000 credits. If the market gets flooded with even more and I end up with $500,000,000 credits, then Rogue might actually be worth something....but only by today's standards. By the standards of the future which is swimming in Cash, Rogue might actually be worth less.....or just worthless...Oh, the pun of it all.
