@ Faustus,

Please ingore if anyone else has thought this up before. If I am not mistaken, I remember you were trying to think up a way to incorporate the MV and FA(now Ad server).

How about this! What if people could travel back and forth between both servers while ingame? please just keep reading,.. Lets Say that if i were playing in the MV and i happend be Inroute to (A) system and the Ad server just happend to be running the (A) map. So why is this important? you ask.. What if the AD server was represented as an alternate Dimention nexis gate that shifted from place to place in the MV just as the server shifts maps?

What if there were some way the Two could be linked allowing for travel between both dimentional maps??? (obviously there would be an issue of modding and fleet/faction loyalities but that could be worked out with some carefull emphasis on staying close to the DIMENTIONAL NEXIS, penalizing those who strayed too far away and those who couldnt make it back through b4 the shift to the next map of there origin or kind of Phazing out there ship due to original dimentional signal degradation. And those who won the Flags on the Maps, changing the direction of the shifts could keep the "ball" in the other guys court and the other team would have the advantage of more resources maybe?) Anyway i see this as a way to add another level of interest to the greatest game known to mankind.

Sincerly, Char ( hopeing to be on the staff oneday ) Aznable,

I would think that would take alot of coding, I would rather see 1.482 1st.

We've tossed this very subject around several times in the past.

It is a very bad idea, on very many levels, when our long range plans for the gameplay in DS are taken into account.

We only contemplated this sort of change back when players only played the scenario servers. Now it is obvious, by watching play counts since v1.481 went live, that this change is unnessesary for players to be choosing to play in the MV. As we suspected, the problem lied (and to a degree still lies) with bugs and other issues which prevent players from playing the MV.

So, no connection between the scenario and MV servers. We can think of no good reason for it. The only reason I can see for persuing this suggestion would be to get players into the scenario servers. Since this is, in many ways, counter to our plans, it is not an issue we choose to address.
