My mine drone idea Makes it defencive

I was still talking about the mine rocket.

It would also seem strange (at least to me) that 5 mines could cover a 75gu diameter circle.

I think an arming time and weaker mines would have to be used if this were to be implemented.

Why not introduce different kinds of mines:

a simple fusion mine that just detonates

a more powerfull antimatter mine

a defensive disruptor mine that fires disruptors

a point defense mine that destroys nearby missiles/bombs with a pulse beam

a tracking mine that will turn into a weaker version of a proton cruise missile once an enemy comes closer than, lets say 300 gu to it

a mine that turns into a fighter once a ship comes closer than 500 gu

etc.

it sounds a bit hilarious now, but i think some of these ideas could really be usefull and quite fun:)

I don't know if they're planning on introducing another faction in the future, but this could be their specialty

This is probably why they are introducing platforms into the game. I can't wait for those

How about mines that each continually fire an infinate supply of fusion torps?

Or, mines that spawn fighters? Call those: lag mines.

Or mines that spawn Gaifen! That's the ticket!

well this is my new idea

25 gu spread
10 velocity
10 mines per rocket
arm after 5 sec
And have a minum damage that is used to disable Egiens ONLY all other system are not harmed or slightly

Bah Gid, the ideas in this thread are perfectly valid for the most part.

The fighter/bomber I mentioned earlier wouldnt be as fast as the regular fighter craft of course from carrying god knows how heavy a Cluster Mine..

As are fighter craft coming to 1.482 or I've missed out on 1.481 where it takes more than one CL beam blast to take it out, or an ELF beam that incapacitates it, it would be able to take a few hits, 2 or 3 maybe.. maybe not 3.. but anyways, this should be thought on more to force it into a defence role, like range, speed, etc. These wouldnt be used for offence, if they are made properly (notice the IF) for obvious reasons. For example, why would you send a Utility vehice on the front lines in the direct line of fire? Why would you send a Supply truck within point blank range of a tank?

It would be cool if you could target a planets hub, pay a certain ammount of ores and then, mines would be built. They would be auto-placed around said planet...maybe it should be on defense base or something but it would be cool.

It would be another form of planet defense that would make close drops MUCH riskier. Didn't Faustas say that the Dev team wanted planets to be harder to cap?

(PS ICC Pulse shield should not destroy something as simple as mines...it doesnt damage ships or roids...)
