I have found that one of the most annoying things about the GCQL client is that you can only be in one room at any time.
Would it be possible to enable being able to join several rooms at once, each having thier own windows which you can switch between.
IE you join the lobby and want to join another conversation and still be in lobby.
Use ctrl + click on the room to join it in a new tab/window.
If you just want to join it and not stat in the main lobby you can just select it as normal and your main chat window would change to that room.
Easy to implement or too much work?
(Ideas all stolen from Mozilla tab browsing)

Actually, Chromix does all the coding for GCQL, not Faust

(I'm 99% sure of that btw...)

I would acctually like to see a stand alone version of GCQL
So I can keep chatting with people even though I don't have access to my play computor.

Multiple chatrooms aren't possible atm. A single user can only be in 0 or 1 chatrooms at the same time.

Standalone:
You can create your own standalone.. the method works with lots of other programs too:
Execute "depends gcql.exe"
If you don't have the program grab it here: http://www.dependencywalker.com/
Copy GCQL and all its dependencies to a floppy -> Standalone Version
