easy, bind your non beam weapons to 1, then bind beams you want to use in combat to 2 or 3

I usualy tie all my combat beams to 2, however sometimes I use pulse beam which I tie to 9 in case I am swarmed by fighters that are not targeted by PD. As far as I remember it doesnt make any differance, beams are still toggled. But I am gona try your aproach, may be I missed something.

Still, toggling beams at shift space seams to be completly usless. I never purposely used that functionality. ever.

If your good at the game you use Shift and 2 (torps default)
