update until u can find a fix with it im BEGGING YOU this is the only game i can play right now my CD DRIVE is broken somthing lodged in it from were it broke a CD from spinning to FAST......... PLZ UNDO THE CODE UPDATE PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I am not sure if this means anything but in several gaming magazines that I had read prior to my forward deployment.. again... I had read that SP2 with HOME XP may cause drastic problems with on-line video games. I also watched TechTV and they absolutly said "to wait and see about SP2 since they had received multitudes of emails reguarding SP2 causing problems with MMOPG's" Now I am not sure about this particular patch but I had Home XP, SP1, with all the optional downloads but no SP2 and I have never had one hang-up in any way. Now if you were smart and installed a restore point AND you have SP2 you may want to attempt a Restore Point rollback to prior to SP2 integration. This may or may not solve your individual problems. I have also noticed XP Pro tends to be a bit mor forgiving towards SP's, updates and Online games.

I've had DS completely lock-up twice since I updated XP with SP2, so hard I had to power cycle the machine, I've never had XP crash on me before SP2.

sp2 only causes problems if you DONT install DXD 9.0c BEFORE installing SP2.

Do not abort the update, that destroys the files and makes them unusable and reinstall the program. As soon as you aborted the update it might screw the whole programm.
So do not abort it and reinstall a fresh downloaded version.

I have uninstalled and deleted darkspace then fresh installed a few times now and I keep getting the same error I also tried disabling the windows firewall but that didn't make one bit of a difference it still locks up
I never had any promblems with it locking up before the latest patch

the patcher gets stuck on connecting to port 9100
same as al the rest of the players....
But i was playing the game when patch was applyed.
When i entered a new game while in the lobby the patch applyed and no problems.
But after i logged in next day. Cant get in the patcher gets stuck on connecting to port 9100 look it cant connect to the update server after the patch is applied.
Something wrong with updaters.
Windows XP SP2 is very stable and very protective compared to sp1.
I have been playing XP Sp2 and never have issues. Except maybe the same as all "LAGGG.."
Like stated above most all your issues is becuase you didnt follow XP sp2 preinstallation instructions. DX UPDATE IS IMPORTANT BEFORE APPLYING
I am attempting to troubleshoot and will post any success.
