This is an excellent post Jack,
I dloaded the tcp optimizer and that has solved most of the problems that I was having with loading the game up and running. I highly recommend this program to anybody having connection issues.
again excellent post with good information in it.

TuneXP is awesome.
I haven't been able to run Scan Disk or Disk Defragmenter on my computer for nearly an entire year because of my anger with Internet Explorer - one day, out of sheer frustration, I vented by proceeding to rip anything relating to IE off of my computer. The resulting consequence? I couldn't run either of the aforementioned programs because they required Internet Explorer.
So, with this program in hand, I've been able to do these things.
Wow.
Combine that with all of the other features, and the performance of my computer has improved. It may not be by an incredible amount, but any little bit helps.
Thanks, Backy.

Well, after giving the game a go for several hours, I've come to the conclusion that... well, nothing has been helped. The game is as laggy to me as it was when I played a year ago. Perhaps it's the servers. Perhaps it's my computer. In any case, I'll just have to accept it and move on.
Still, thanks for the tips. And the program.

I have a 6.0mbit connection and am still lagged when around alot of missiles or torps. (or sometimes for no reason at all)
DS is just a laggy game. I would quit playing it if it wasn't so much fun

Lots of complaining of lag lately, this might help.

I also recommend using Spyboy: Search and Destroy
I have found that it pin-points many things other programs overlook.

Hope this helps

I started bloody reading this thread, thinking that it was something new that BackSlash had typed. I was reading over programs I had gotten, like TuneXP... and, then, when I checked the time stamp on the post immediately following... I realized that it was January of 2005.
"What the...?"
So, I scrolled... and scrolled... and flipped to the next page... and, sure enough, there I was, having posted on this several months ago.
Durrr......

Was going to add that $witch, Adaware and Spybot S&D basicly do the same thing though, so it's up to the user, plus Adaware is slightly more user friendly (for those who have NO IDEA what spyware is).
I'll add the link anyways

There are some things that spybot will delete, thus causing MANY problems. I had a point where my internet wouldnt work at all because it deleted some essential files.. had to go through and restore them all..
I recommend adaware over spybot!

Then the spyware had infected those files. Adaware would of done the same.
