Never had any lag problems in Beta...
As to EVA... boy, if you don't put that crack pipe down right now I'ma give you a brain duster that your grandkids'll be dazed from.

I've played in beta 5 times so far. Twice when I was the only one online and lag was REALLY bad, and 3 times when 3 or more players were on, and lag was better if not the same as release. For me anyway. I need to log more time in beta really.

Um... you DO remember to limit the FPS of the Beta client before you go in there, and to set the proper bitrate of your connection... right?

Zero lag in beta. Even with 500-700 fighters, the server managed to keep up (CPU wise). Which isnt bad, and we all know the beta host machine isnt as powerful as the MV server. Also EVA, remaking the game engine, which is what you are preposing, would take about a year-year and a half if Faustus had a good amount of time on it a day. Engines are most of the code, it works out everything for you, deals with all the player positions etc, and it wouldnt just be server side remake, he'd have to recode the client aswell. Sometimes infact, engine recodes/redo's arnt that popular, because sometimes people often get side tract, or accidently miss out a ) or ; or a 1 should be a 0. Lots of problems can go wrong.

Yep, I was saying it was doubtful he had tried beta. On another note, you haven't gotten any weird messages or peeped at the quotes thread have you Tael?

General rule of thumb EVA, lag will always be present no matter HOW many patches are put in. You see, it mostly depends on what connection you have. Whether 56k or DSL or whatever... there will be lag no matter what. I've heard some people getting some decent results with 56k though.. I find that sligthly awkward to me. The only problem I get is with my DSL as it likes to cause most of my lag and all that crap...
Anyway.. as for the recoding.... NO WAY that is happening. There is no way it can happen. Big F doesn't have the time to do all the recoding and stuff. The last thing he would want is an error and miss a character or more.. And trust me, it's a pain to recover from those errors...
