A Day in the World

A struggle to survive every moment;
Running and dodging bad luck,
Fearing each step taken,
Not knowing what may lie ahead.
Never really trusting what lies in plain sight,
Perceiving the wrong of right,
Being ready for the unforeseeable,
But never prepared for what comes.
Going for dreams unreachable
Seeking needed help
But receiving little
Alone in the world
Falling into the crowd untraceable
Never being recognized
Never receiving credit earned
Always cast outside looking in
Finding one’s self
Knowing what is meant to be
But hoping for better
Fighting for the right to live
Having to live each day in dread
For that one day to end all days
May come sooner rather than later
A day in life
