I always thought and still do think darkspace graphics are great... I mean the game started development on the gfx engine when? 1999? 2000? I know it was in beta in 2001....so imagine....the graphics still being so good in our eyes by todays standards and working on the hardware it works on... faustus is brilliant... or whoever programmed it for him

network code...gfx, just the programming alone is on levels not even seen by huge teams of people.

as is evident in this review
imagine a graphics overhaul to take advantage of todays cards.....or maybe they were overhauled and I am a silly fool for posting this...

www.jackwallace.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/fx.zip

Copy this do your data directory in the DS folder, overwrite.

Set both "doupdate=1" to "0" in the config.ini and save it. Have fun.

Depends if people want ot be able to add stuff

Ok...Read only makes it so the game NEVER updates again, seeing as its not updated, doesnt make a difference, but locking the file means you cant add emotes, you cant change anything in setup, etc etc. So, If you just want to look at them, I would recommend not setting it to read only, if you want to keep them after that, then by all means do that.

That file contains some different looks to torpedoes and beams (and maybe a couple other things). Makes torpedoes more glowy-like; think photon torpedoes.
