Here is a list of the requirements for the ships in beta. If any of them in game do not conform to this list, people let me know. Also, if any of them seem unduly difficult to attain (compared to their value) or seem far too easy, you can post that too. I made some changes from the list that was provided to me as I was doing it because of some changes to the ships since there, namely to the command dreads and other high-level ships. So let me know how it all looks.
Thanks.

I'll check the stats on the ships and see if there's a reason to keep it higher. I'm not sure what the reasoning was originally, if it was intentional.

Boarding ships :/

Which is utterly rediculas because 90% of people carry inf on their ships.

I think its silly to have a badge which people can stop other people getting easily, just by carrying inf or cargo.

I decided kind of on a whim to include that on the high level stations; its not necessarily permanent. It is an option in game though, so I figured we should use it somewhere. Plus, those Command stations are beasts; why not make them difficult to get? Adds a bit of a challenge for those GAs who thought they already had everything...

On the other hand, the point of this thread is to discuss the changes and new system, so if you disagree with having Privateer required on certain ships, feel free to say so. That's just my explanation for why; don't hold back your reasoning for why not, or suggestions, or complaints, comments, whatever.

well shig, i think having them (privateer badges) as requirements for the new stations is good.

why? GA is just a pres level. anyone can farm a single attribute to get GA. however badges are the result a specific act, therefore harder to achieve.

so put em in for requirments, it will make the GA's have something to strive for.

I think having the privateer badge as a requiement is bad because it seems to be that whether or not a ship caps is completley random. I've had 4 inf dropped on a cruiser and I only lost 4 systems.....I've had one inf dropped on a cruiser and I get capped......maybe if it made sense I could deal with it. I've played DS for over a year now and my ships capped score is 2, because it is nearly impossible to get.

Since you can stop people getting the badge via keeping cargo or inf, its kind of rediculas to have a badge needed for ANY ship. Keep the badge, its a nice addition, but...having it as a requirement..too hard, or you need to lower the badge requirements by quiet a lot, (ie have gold as 20 or so).

10/25/50 for privateer badges seems more realistic

Also, challenges shouldn't be trying to get lucky dropping on a ship and the ship not having inf plus the low rate of capture IF the ship has no inf. Just don't see any skill in that area more of a luck thing. IMO.

It is random, Yitram; for each ship class, there's a percent chance that any one Inf will cause a capture. It scales from something low but decent like 15% for scouts to something like 1% for stations.. though I don't actually know the numbers. That's just the impression I got when I read how it works.

And yes, it is hard to attain. How about making Bronze required? Or is everyone but Meko coming down on the "Don't Require it At All" side?
