1: Make Reload/Build exclusively apart again. Im sorry, this change should not have been undone.

2: Switch Light Engineer and Light Supply's place in ranks. Supply should be the newbie ship, not Engineer.

1. While the side of me that makes uber engi's out of heavy sup ships says please no! The reasonable side of me says go for it, that way the command ships can have a build without being more powerful due to a reload...

2. DEFINATLY! I've always wondered why noobs got access to some wimpy combat ships and a ship that requires hours to learn how to use properly, instead of wimpy combat and a ship that's as simple as combat. Give noobs the sup ship and make them learn more about the game before they get the engi...

(PS: I don't consider noob to be an insult, just a short easy to type word for newbie, please don't get me wrong, I'm not insulting people who don't understand the engi.)

I fully agree, except:

Newbies should have access to an engineer.

I do not even think newbies should get an engy. IMO its about time Newbie Server gets cut completely. Newbies are far more likely to find help in the metaverse and they wont feel daunted if they start with mundane and helpful tasks.

There should be an advanced tutorial, and I mean a very good one, to show the player what all the ships look like, the classes...very indepth one..

There could be a newbie area for each faction, that no vet is allowed to enter..

i think the tutorial should be client side.

and there should be three tutorials that run you through all the factions.

Another idea here...I don't know if discussed before, so pardon me if already covered before I joined this community.

Has anyone thought of changing the code to allow players to "name" their ships? Famous (and notorious) skippers and captains are remembered by the "name" of their vessel as well. CPT Kirk and the "Enterprise", you know what I mean.

Some discussion is probably in order here. But the new version should have capability to name each ship in each individuals garage. So everyone will see the ship's name once in contact range....not the ship skiiper's name! See my point? And once a ship gets blown up, and you get and mod a new one...you have to name it something different (or add a numeric number to the ned of it). Simply put, ship captains may "escape pod" away from the explosions, only to fight again in another ship.

Famous ships are feared and/or hunted, the skipper and crew onboard are only by-products of the hunt.

So what do you think, my fellow players? Devs?

ive always that the ship naming would be a good idea =)

and once you name your ship you Cannot Rename it!!! (that will stop ppl from naming thir ships stupid names to annoy someone)
