i only have 325,000 credits, i don't even know if i can mod anything fully.
u should atleast start every player with 1,000,000 or somethin when the release comes out, plz think about it. I want to modify my ships.

I both disagree and agree, really.
The modding prices gives you more of a attachment to your ship, you want to cling to it and use it as much as possible..
BUt it also takes away from the versatility of the currently pretty small player base.
Ah well, nothing to do but wait and see how it's like in release with our 50 million credit dreads.

I do agree that the prices are too high. The only logical idea I can come up with at the moment is to just cut the prices in Half. From the quick calculations I have done in my head this would make modding much more affordable.

it's hard to make money. no income = no moding.

Well, let's not forget a couple things..
This'll bring cargo trade routes for players, mebbe. if the reward for the time spent moving minerals from one planet to one far away is worth it, even with MV planetary resources.
THAT I would find, neat.
Then there's the pirates and Mir that'll be wandering around!
Also there's just sitting there, mining, and selling to a planetary starport you're mining from. THat being the most boring.
I just hope that cargo trading from planet to planet will be made very worth the time spent, cause that can be boring! Especially if, say, a non admiral newbie is trying to get money, as admirals can use Command Dreads, or better, fleet/grand admirals can WH a station around with a much larger cargo bay.
And missions are supposedly coming back too

Peanut, heres the Deal..
a long time ago there were "Missions" that people could do for money..IE: Guard.. Scout.. Planet Defense.
but some where along the way somebody found a bug in it a year or 2 back and got themselves a heck of alot of money and bonus prestige.. (I might be remembering this story wrong so help me out if you know whats up)
Now my Guess is that F, Tael, Mith and the Gang are working on getting them back in minus the Exploit feature.
As for My take on modding costs, I think they are set up very well. Here is why, It gives us something to look forward to, and spend time on. Something to Trade for or with.. A reason for us to be Savy Shoppers.. A reason for us to think about cleaning up battle grounds for the scraps of dead ships.
Just consider this Secenario...
A Modded AD gets Caught in a dictor field by a small kluth fleet in the middle of Space on their merry way to a Jump Gate .. Instead of killing him they make him give them his High Value Parts in Trade for not getting killed. becus the most these pirates would maybe get off his kill would be maybe 1 or 2 parts of some value.. the Traped lives to go on and the Pirates get a Bigger haul and more parts...

As rewards for certain events, the event staff will also give out special level devices too.
Also, its expensive to mod devices, but if you take the scrap you find and sell it to a ship yard, someone can buy the item for a fraction of the cost of modding it themselves. So you can make money by picking up dropped equipment.

Not to mention that you Can Advertise to your Faction certain Spare Parts that you can Auction or Sell off for a Higher price than what a Starport will give you.

They were scout missions, by modding a scout with an amj, you could run hundreds in an hour. Each would give you a little money and a little pres. It wasn't really a bug, because they were working properly. The problem was they shouldn't have let scouts and frigates run strings of the missions. So it was abused. I should know, I did it back in the day.

equipment drops just dont seem to be happening... and id reather not be doing missions when i could be makeing all things red dead or green... mineing??? why would anyone mine??? other than to mine hydrogen on one of the senario maps there is no point and no money in it... we dont buy our ships or provide the rez to build them... shiping rez to distant worlds makes you a small amount of money and a few weeks after reset it makes you almost no money due to the insain amount of rez built up on the planets... trying to hold someone up for goods in order to let them live just does not work... the almighty log button will save the day every time...
that and... i thought we were fighters not miners... i thought we were millatary not civilian... but if this is the course the game must take we will need new ships for the task because war ships just are not up to the task of mineing/shipping

The prices are too high, I must agree.
