Latest news reports put the death toll at 37 so far, but until the fire crews and police can search the areas fully, this will still be only an estimate.
I live in England and have been watching the news all day. I just get upset at what's happened and feeling angry about not being able to do anything. Times like these i wish i was back in the forces and at least i'd feel like i was playing my part in stopping these acts of mindless violence against innocents.
Sorry if i sound rather angry or vindictive, it's just my home country so to speak...

Death toll is now at 38, with more expected to die (from serious injurys).
750+ people injured
150+ seriously injured
150+ criticaly injured (50/50 chance)
There are no words that can express my feelings about this..and today of all days, with G8, and us wining the 2012 olypics...its just...monstrous.

this is turning into quite the week = not that it compares at all, but my towns strip mall burned down 2 nights ago, possibly taking a whole bunch of animals with it from the pet store =( now london gets bombed... augh, too much badness is happening, i dont like it =(
hope all the DSers are ok, and my feelings go out to all the people who were affected. i cant understand this stuff, why would you bomb people who are remotely related to your problems?
now the news is talking about how security officials think ottawa is next... this is lovely

My prayers go out to you its good to hear that most of the ppl in darkspace are confirmed not to have been in the attack.
Im sure the people that commited these acts will definately get their just dues...
I definately hope the people I met last year when I went to Britain are ok but kinda hard to tell they were very very kind people... So my prayers definately go to them too.

really i dont know what to say except that im glad to hear that all the english dsers seem to be ok. Its a sad testament to how cruel humans can be to each other, all politics asside those who were injured or killed were innocent, they had nothing to do with the war in iraq or afganstan, yet these monsters dont seem to see it that way.
anyways peace all and good luck

Princess Alexandra in Harlow,
I attended a samaritans event last night as guest speaker and was asked to do a 45 minute presentation on self harm and suicide prevention. I asked people to ask questions throughout as i dont like just standing and spurtting out stuff. All i got throughout the bloody thing was abuse at how !^%@@!$@ the NHS is and how slow we are to respond to people in need. I lost my rag, (not Good) and it turned into a defensive rearguard. (not professional)
What really got my goat was that the emergency services in London and the outlying hospitals have been absolutely brilliant throughout the day. The casualties are minimal considering the damage taken, Doctors were rushing from the British Medical Association building where the bus blew up and were treating people amongst wreckage and debris, and with no kit.
Nurses were rushed in from all over london to cover beds, A and E depts saved lives like no tommorrow. London ran out of intensive care unit beds at noon,
The fire brigade and amblance crews were magnificent, People were kept calm, and panic was avoided.
In times of crisis like this the unsung heroes get on and do the job.
My message therfore is, if your gonna slag the NHS, just STFU and think about it.
Rant over.

cheh, if you want a faster system why dont you stop worrying about your wallet and help? ignorant critisizing is quite anoying, its not like doctors can work maricles under extream pressure conditions.
I say good on the NHS for thier timely and efficient support.
