Ok. Please realize that I am not an ICC player (K'luth at heart).

ICC needs a minor upgrade to their shields. As it stands right now, being ICC does not really pay off at all. Since they're supposed to be the defensive faction, their shielding should in fact be slightly stronger than it is presently. Also, the regen rate on the shields should be faster - but also cost more energy of course.

I think this would result in ICC being a bit more satisfied with their faction, as right now, it really is a bit harsh on them, since combat wise, they are at a disadvantage to the UGTO, whose armor is nearly just as strong and repairs without energy drain.

Can't compare to the K'luth, since K'luth were never meant to have enormous shielding.

It's not quite so bad if you can focus your shields to where you're taking fire with the numberpad. I took a great deal of punishment last night before I finally just ran out of shield energy.

I like that idea better...Manually focusing your shield strength. Nice.

Errr...

Dude....

A) Assault Disruptors are broken
B) ICC shields get stronger the smaller the ship...

Both need need a fix...BADLY

My L10 EAD, couldnt get the shields on a destroyer below 80%. Whilst the destroyer was firing L5 AM torps at me. I got OWNED, badly. Now, im no fool in an EAD. I know I can pilot the ship very well indeed. But when it comes to the point where the dessy can fly around, max speed, recharging L10 actives, firing at me with L5 AM torps, and I cant even scratch him, theres blatently a bug involved, or a miscalculation.

Assault Disruptors also cost the same to recharge as a normal disruptor, infact, they cost even less because of the L8 cap.

And it's already there, too!

Though if what Jack is saying about shields is true, yeah... that needs fixing.

Assault Disruptors were just fixed, and should be in the next update.

As for the shields, Jack doesnt know what he is talking about because what he just said is completely wrong...

I'm not so sure that ICC is supposed to be the defensive faction anymore. They sure haven't been the past few versions. They do have the best planets (shield AND pulse beam bases? Overkill IMO) and ship shields including pulse shield, but they also have the most effective bomber (truly a pure offensive ship) and the same basic assault ships as UGTO who were considered the "offensive" faction.

So ICC aren't the "defensive" faction anymore. They're the "best of everything" faction.

lol. guys... keep on topic... the deal is theres bugs with ICC's sheilds... post them and wait for admin to sot them out. no need to make a big deal out of it! i find manual refocousing sheilds a bit hard during combat as most of the players ive come across. tend to circle your ship wearing your sheilds down bit by bit... now if this is against one player, there easy to pick off. but when four of them are doing it... the sheilds drop realy fast.

what are you doing flying into the middle of 4 enemy ships? o_O

I like the manual shield distribution.

It lets me put the shield where I need it when I need it. And since I'm usually stuck in a smaller vessel firing pea-shooters at dreads, it let's me feel like I'm at least taking an active part in my own defense.

@Tael, explain how I alpha'd Headsponge (cant remember the name), and only did minor damage to shields...

Lots of other people are saying they have the same problem, kluth included.

I fire at a dread, I do a good amount of shield damage. A normal amount. If I fire at a smaller ship, the same weapons do hardly any damage.

If the shields arnt broken, then the shields need fixing. Because I had an impossible time trying to kill a missile drestroyer that was kicking my hieny badly.

Me and Drow tested...

It seems that the aux shield gen allows you to pull shield power from an invisable pool of shield reserves. By clicking the aux gen quickly, Drow was able to recharge his shields quicker. I was out of ammo and energy by the time he was taking armour damage. If I stopped to recharge, his shields where already at 15%.

Theres the issue.
