DS isnt DS without the EAD being the EAD....

Hehe but the EAD isn't the EAD! Isn't it an insult for the current ship to carry the old name?

Lol I say change it and preserve the dignity of the name "EAD"'!

(I'm joking)

And hey, you have a rubber EAD? A "rubber EAD"?

Just because it's looks like and EAD made out of rubber ....doesn't actually make it an EAD.I'd rather you left your personal possesions out of this.

hmmm, ships have enough defenses already... especially modded/upgraded dreads which are now a pain in the *** to kill with kluth cruisers ( cruisers which are supposed to kill/protect dreads... its their "role" ).

My advice would be to cut on the armors a bit for EVERY SHIP so that a cruiser alpha salvo actually DOES some damage... right now it takes 2-3 fully modded scale alphas ( upgraded to max, 8 am torps, 16 disruptors ) to get through ONE dread flanking arc. It's just ridiculous.

While im on the scale... Why oh why did you guys had to put the extra layers of armor on the SIDES, aft ok np, fore ok np, but sides? no... ( I mean It's a kluth ship... I need defence in front and rear, having defence on the flanks is just useless, kluth engineers CANT be that dumb... can they? )

Palestar nerfed dreads once before. I doubt they will do it again...They did it to keep the noobs happy, so they could own dreads. Its not how the game is supposed to work. Dreads, are dreaded (duh). They own all they see, its how they work, they arem eant to be feared.

Yes, cruisers are meant to own dreads...in packs of 3-4. Not one on one. Im against this whole, nerf the dreads so that players in smaller ships can have an easier time killing them. People spend months (if not years), getting to pilot these things, and all they get as a reward, is smaller ships able to kill them?

No...dont agree with that all...

Ever since 1.2-3, when Dreads where nerfed, I hated it, totaly, and the kluth destroyers owning dreads was a perfect example in 1.482 of how the game was destroyed because of that patch. Destroyers, and cruisers, arnt meant to kill dreads without support of more cruisers and destroyers.

The Scale, i'd imagine, is mostly broadside weapons (FORE, LEFT, RIGHT). Or atleast I hope so. Perhaps you need to think up of ways to use the extra armour.

  • Add one armor to each arc.

  • Remove the fighters, add 3 Std Weapon mounts, 2 Heavy Weapons.

  • Add one Standard Launcher.

  • Std Weapon Mounts : 70% Fore, 25%Fore Right Left, 5% Aft.

  • Std Launcher Mounts : 100% Fore/Right/Left.

  • Heavy Weapon Mounts : 50% Fore/Left, 50% Fore/Right.

  • Increase Special I to level 5 Max.

  • SI : Increase Hull Damage for more Energy Cost.

Also...

The old EAD could be a loner, if in fact, it was going after one ship. 2 Cruisers and you could guarantee that it would be toast.

The fact was with the old EAD, is that if you got too close, you were dead, and that what should remain, the assault ships were supposed to be designed for the hardest first punch, but could never really last.

The EAD, along with the other assault ships, deserve to have their buffs. Their FA for chirst sake, and their only uniqueness is Core Weapons, which in fact, I would gladly do without.

We didnt need core weapons in 1.482 or before, we certainly wouldent need them now...

Having a player of one faction advise changes to ships of an opposing faction is a bad idea. It's one thing if they have complaints about their own ships but any suggestions about another factions ships is likely to be biased.
In other words, lay off my siphon please.

I see where you're going backslash, one more thing tho... one of the "objectives" back then I think was to have smaller ships actually serve a purpose so that fleets would be diversified which in turns add to the unpredictability of the gameplay hence enhancing the replay value in 2 ways... once you get bored of the big ships, you an still fly the small ones and have fun and second, if you still fly the dreads, then you have to memorize more enemy ship setups ( that is if they're small and can still pull their weight on the battlefield ).

I can fly dreads, tho I try not to anymore, It got boring for me I guess after a while.

Everyone can't be happy... but we can try our best to get to it.

Either way, I'm very excited as to what kind of balance changes we'll see coming in effect next...

Ah, theres the catch see!

Dreads got slowed down, and higher level weapons cant hit smaller ships. So smaller ships DO have a roll, in taking down the other smaller ships. It all plays out...
