Umm, I hope this is a positive change and not a negative one. UGTO and Kluth defenses need faster beams not slower. It's just gonna make it easier for enemies to bomb them. I would say give them faster beams but another anti-ship weapon like torpedoes or cannons.

When's this change taking place?

ALright, here's my two cents

today me and a good few of people invaded Kluth space and bombed it all to dust..

how are we supposed to act as a fleet when we have people on all sides wanting to do there own thing..

If you make it so that say I for instance want to go bomb and nobody else wants to do that, then I would be S.O.L...

AS for planetary super weopons. if they are made to strong so that a single bomber can't get through, that's going to kill alot of game play and piss off alot of people, to boot the repulsor and or gravity well idea's are actually bad thoughts..

if you have a gravity well on a planet, it's supposed to be sucking in everything,, including the planet.. and your ships when they get to close say for orbit.. duh..
the Repulsor, ok, it pushes a ship away, but if it's set wrong, it would also push the bombs away.. Making it completly pointless to bomb, let alone have bombers...

These planetary super weopons, sounds like someone's been watching star wars a bit to much.. where on hoth the ion cannon takes out a star destroyer.. a bit unrealistic. however, if it's introduced. I would say give those a 10 minute charge time, and only 1 or 2 per planet...
as for the bomb defense guns. well what good is it to send a big bolt of energy at a bomb the size of shuttle?

realism is on our minds to. and I agree some things are to easy. but I don't think that we should have to have a complete fleet of 100 just to take out one simple planet..

not everytime are we going to get in a battle with a fleet..
and not everytime are we going to have that nice fleet to help us out..

my two cents

No, but you should definitely need a coordinated effort to bomb and cap planets. Right now anyone can do it, and is. Look at the state of the MV. Planets changing hands left and right.

That's just not right. Maybe planetary superweapons are too much for this version, but there's no doub that the current defense bases are too weak. And I think properly coded tractor and repulsor bases would be great. Gravity well was an idea I read in another post, but tractor base is almost the same thing so that gets my endorsement instead.

Planets should be the toughest entities in the galaxy. Way tougher than even the big stations.

Hey, let's see how this update plays! I'm posting this during the update.

i think i found the issue, the planet damage code was applying planet wide once a threshhold was reached instead of only the affected blast radius. So even reducing the area had no affect with large swarms.

Have noted it for F's review.

Well, that explains why you couldn't decimate a planet from orbit but you could when clouding.
