If the big ole deal is the whole suiciding ship thing, why not change things around another way?
Say, if you pull out a bomber, you're locked from getting another of that same ship for a certain amount of time? Maybe depending on how you lose it? I dunno.

Two things.
1) I lost 2k prestige in a day or two...
2) This game is getting to complicated (If I wanted EVE, I'd play EVE)...
It used to be fun: pull out a ship, blow a person or two up, then maybe die myself...No big deal. Now, it's annoying...

Theres a happy medium here, it just hasn't been found yet. The previous pres loss calc was too low, the current it too high, I'm sure Faustus will do something about it and taylor it down to something more reasonable.

Bottom line, pres loss is ridiculous now, I lost 3.3 k pres in 2 days in mixed ways (lost 3-4 ships).. that's just ridiculous, perhaps, to prolong battles or accomplish what was intended, make SDing cost 2-3 times more pres, and planet collisions 2-3 times more, but legitimate dying should go back to normal.
And I won't even get started on having a dictor jump you with the pres loss right now.. unbelievable IMO.

No. Unfortunately, the game can't distiguish between lag planet collisions and non-lagged planet collisions. Colliding should definitely not be any more than dying legitimately, as it is either accidental or unavoidable. Also with the new planet defenses, I don't think the game distinguishes between colliding and getting killed by a planet, so that would still have too much of an impact on your prestige.
But, we all know it, the pres loss is beginning to make the MV virually unplayable for many people who don't want to lose their hard earned rank.
Sigh.. I have a gold engy badge to earn, so I'm off to do that. I'm certainly not going to do anything combat-related. Not in the MV, anyways.
