I honestly second this.........
What strategy would there be if Planet Capturing was removed? NONE. Period.


As for the next patch, ideas aren't bad and I agree with most of it and everything has it's pros and cons with changes. But, the actual idea of actually not losing your ship fully and the time to repair that ship fully might be a bad idea to me... and that can easily be exploited for supply pres... I honestly don't think this is a good idea to do that..

About the prestige gaining, the group would be [cec] for me right?

Now i really wonder, with that system there will be a favourite thing to do on the server.
NOTHING

If you gain prestige when your group gains prestige, you can just log in, spawn an anti-scensor scout with massive ecm, sit in the middle of nowhere with massive ecm, and gain prestige!

Or am i wrong? (i hope i am)

im not joking Jack, its the same thing every day we invade they invade we get slaughtered, they get slaughtered, we own SOL and Sirius MV Reset its BORING i want more out of this game than capping planets and hunting Luthys or UGTO However, Planet Capping could be fun with the right people, also, the lag needs to be FIXED i cant stress this enough

if you didnt have planet capping what would the point of the metaverse be? it would just be one huge combat arena. engineers only used once, making them useless as well as transports and all bombing boats.

and who would decide who gets which system without capping?

Err... about that voice communication... I hope it doesn't use UDP. My proxy gets a little annoying if I have to relay a UDP connection.

if at some time in MV ... there will be ... let say for example group of players working together in area and they will be:

Player A is from clan 1
Player B is from clan 1
Player C is from clan 2
Player D is from clan 3
Player E is from clan 4
Player F is from clan 4
Player G is from no clan
Player H is from no clan

then in fact only who will be in group or share any gains are players in clan 1 (A-B) and 4 (E-F) and only ...

well ... that's quite close minded only who will benefit are massive fleets ...
in fact , why have MORE than 1 fleet ? let's all join 1 fleet and You get nice gains (cough exploit ?)

does it encourage people who are just online to work together and group in area ? it seems NOT

there should be used same / similar grouping system like in past ...
where anyone with "certain" rank can create group ...

If it is staying, which structure will control which faction's devices will be available for upgrade at that planet?

Destroyed ships will leave behind resources only... the number left behind is where your resources lost will come from. Additionally, if you drop resources on a friendly planet (selling them to the port won't count), you'll reduce your "Resources Lost".

No cross faction moding... matter of fact, you won't find any devices in ports after the next update... nor can you use a factory to build devices.

Actualy, it does encourage people too. It encourages them to join a fleet to get grouping, which involves teamwork.

Ehhm... dropping ressources reduces your res lost?

So you mean if someone sits all day at a planet mining he will in term not gain any money, but will on the other hand have quite a nice prestige bonus?

Great!
We will be able to clear our lost prestige through mining/trading.
And no cross faction moding is a great news for the game balance.

What's going to happen with PD now that device levels are forced by hull size? (Higher level increases recharge, damage, range and energy cost. Increased damage is useless to PD, and increased recharge and energy cost are both hurting PD.)

Will UGTO and/or K'luth get their own beam designed for PD?
