I decided to use a 1 week trial coupon after not playing since late winter. When I quite the game I am sure I had several million credits. Now I just installed the game, took out a new cruiser and have -500000 credits.

What has changed? Where did my credits go? How can I get them back? And how do you earn credits in this version of the game? Missions still ?

Mooco, every ship you take out based on its size will remove a certain amount of credits from your profile, even more for a modded ship. Only catch is when you return the ship to a shipyard/log out or die those credits are returned to you. Kinda like some wierd type of insurance thingy i dunno.

Credits changes...
- Posted on July 16th, 2005 - 09:00 by Faustus

A new change has been made to make accumulation of credits in-game easier on everyone, including admins who keep having to compensate players. When you spawn a ship (new or docked), the value of the ship, including the costs of any upgrades, are deducted from the players credits. This may result in a NEGATIVE credit balance in-game after your spawn.

If the ship is destroyed or docked, the FULL value of the ship, including the costs of upgrades are returned back to the players credit balance.

NOTE: If you remove a ship from your dock, then you receive no compensation for any upgrades you've made to that ship.

Doesn't look fixed to me. I just took the cruiser out again and am still negative about 500000 credits.... So how much does a cruiser take out?

I checked my profile while not loggin in and it showed I had + about 500000 credits.... So that means a cruiser takes out about a million... Okay, still, where did all the cash I had from earlier this year go? Was everyone’s account reset? Or did an update clobber my account.

Was there ever any compensation for this?

FFS, I wish someone would stop removing my posts...
This thread would of been sorted long ago if someone hadn't jumped to their conclusion.

Like I said (Twice now), there's nothing to fix, it's the new game mechanics.

Credit changes

Just so we're clear. Follow the link in Backslash's post or - go here:

Point is, the behavior you're seeing is exactly what it's supposed to do currently.

Thank you everyone, I have read that link several times now. But it does not answer my question. Where did the millions of credits go that were in my account early this year?

If this is indeed the way the game is supposed to work now, that’s unfortunate. Actually I like the idea of ships and items costing credits. I don't like the idea that existing credits are lost or reset when the version changes (apparently).

Perhaps I will look in on the game in another several months or so to see if things have settled down enough to justify a subscription.

I appreciate everyone’s time...

Nax, bad bad bad including your SID...

Remove your in your post. Basicly, if you're still logged in, or recently, someone can log in with your username and info.

Ships automaticly insure now, and you scouts cost a few thou, cruisers cost a few mil.

Not a usual link for me - guess that's one way to learn not to link certain things. I've purged the SID - even the old number shouldn't be an issue anymore.

Dosent anyone read His post? He is stating that a while ago he had like 4,000,000 (thats 4 million). He now has 500,000 (thats 500 thousand). Notice the difference in the numbers? That is with NO ship in play. Where did his 3,500,000 go?

You all bitch that he is not reading your post when its you not reading his.

He understands ship cost, ya ya he has X creds, - y creds on getting ship.

This still fails to expalin his lost 3,500,000 credits from his last game play time.

All numbers are my guess and probably not accurate
