Hello, my old friends.

I hope you are all individually doing well, for thanks to a quick glance at the forums, I see that you aren't doing so well collectively. I'm sorry I haven't been around more to help keep the sniveling brats among you in line, but those of you who know me know the story. Even if I were still around like I used to be, though, I don't think I could do much to counter the unrest I see here.

The past few months of DarkSpace have seen me logging into a lobby of 5 with no players in the MV at times where we used to have a lobby of 30, with almost twice that in the MV.

Those of you who say DarkSpace is dead... you're right. Compared to what it once was, DarkSpace is dead. Those of you who say the community will pull the game through (of which crowd I was one)... you're wrong. Now wait... I'm not here to say go home to you all and let the game die its death.

I'm here to say quit wasting your breath.

I see people complaining pointlessly about how crappy the game's become, how unplayable, how tragic, how sad, how depressing, how miserable, etc, etc, and so on, and so forth. You know what? I agree with you.

I see people complaining pointlessly about how uncaring and disrespectful those people are for sharing those pessimistic and degrading viewpoints with the rest of the community, as it's the community that's kept this once-incredible game alive at all. I agree with you too.

But with all due respect to both sides and those who may or may not articulate either argument adequately, it's the incessant argument between loyalist and separatist that's dragging this community down, not one side or the other.

Demand change to a broken game? Won't fix anything. Demand change to a broken community? Won't fix anything either.

You're right, Lark. A lot of us do need to grow up... and in growing up, I hope you all gain the wisdom to look at what has happened to this beautiful, blessed phenomenon we call DarkSpace. There is only one that can fix her. It's not me, it's not any of you, and it's not the combined effort of the community at large.

In the end, the community is still based around the game, and that game, as Lark has pointed out, is the brainchild of one man.

Take it from me... he won't do anything based even on the full support of the community. He will do it on his own time, when he and he alone wills it. If he does not, or cannot, act in time, DarkSpace will die, regardless of how many loyal players stuck to their guns (whichever guns they hold) to the bitter end.

So if you want this game to live... play it to the best of your ability. If some of you can't... your complaints won't change the game's fate, and nor will complaints against the complainers.

Just play it, if you want it.

i got mentioned in a Dem post!

*cough cough*

thats more wisdom than i could make in a day.

pessimisticaly:
seems people are complaining about eachother more than the game though... dont think thats gonna change any time soon, even with the great Demorians words. people who dont like eachother go on doing so.

and a sad state of affairs, that is.

optimistically:
hes 100% right. if u like DS, shutup, sit down, play the game. only diff ill say is i think people should be playing fairly... but since they prolly wont, just play. maybe well actually make it then.

in any case, Dem just pwned everyone.

Man walks into a shop and pays 10 bucks for a washing machine, deal is, he has to pay 10 bucks every month to get his clothes clean.
Washing machine becomes broken, man goes back into the shop.
Salesman says, we cant get your clothes clean now, but if you keep paying 10 bucks, we MIGHT in the future.

What do you think of that man!!!!
