Client crashes trying to inter MV, no errors |

Everytime i try to enter the MV my client crashes, i updated the client. it worked back when i played in the past just fine, my gfx card isn't even listed with hardware problems its a 6800gt, it doesn't matter which server it just crashes straight to desktop with no information at all, im rather frustraighted can anyone help?

you may try deleting the contents of your /darkspace/data/ folder, then reupdating
or reinstalling (then reupdating of course)

okay im trying the first one, i've already uninstalled/reinstalled 3x.. but i never went back and actualy made sure everythign was deleted from the folder either hmmm

Make sure you have clicked the UPDATE button in the Lobby, next to the play button before trying to enter a server.
When you first install and run the game, you automatically get the Lobby update, but this is purely for the GCQL program, not for the DarkSpace Game program. The autoupdate for the game client is currently broken so oyu have to manually click that update button otherwise the game will just shutdown when you try entering a server.

Okay, i've reinstalled and updated the client 4x now, i tried deleting that folder and re updating the client. if i read that right it appears to still be just shutting down instead of trying to enter the server, any more idea's? and yes im hitting the update button next to play in the chat client

Well it isn't your card, my 6800GT works fine.
The only thing I could recommend is making sure your video drivers are up to date then...
Uninstall Darkspace.
Open C:Program Files
Delete the folder "Palestar"
Reinstall DS
Enter Lobby and hit "Update".
Hit "Setup" and pick your options
Then attempt to play.
Bad part is, it could be any number of things.
Just never know, I've had it be vid drivers, sound drivers, etc etc etc.

You're not hitting update when GCQL loads. That's the problem.

2 more "things" to look at
- did you hit the SETUP and contolled/entered the correct resolution and end it with OK or DONE or ACCEPT ??
- did you just de-installed DS and re-installed it or did you de-installation registry-wipe and re--installation??
