Ah yes, back when people were all pumped about being in the MV, none of those silly shipyards to exploit, no wormholes, no EDs, no FS, none of that nonsense. Good old fashioned gatehopping.

Hell yeah it was, best battles ever. And Cloud bombing actaully took skill/didn't give any prestige.

After flipping through the ancient archive and looking at my stores of old photos... I decided to upload two.

The first one... well, in addition to showing the old organization of systems (you didn't get to see a system map when you looked inside it; you just had a list of planets), it illustrates how much one determined ICC Light Transport could do. Solo cap planets!

That, and I suppose I like to promote TK...

The second image... shows the UGTO on a good day back in 1.480. Whenever I joined the MV, it wasn't very often that the UGTO captured as many planets as this. Seeing the UGTO with 100 planets was, to me, a "Wow..." moment.

I have others... but, ehn, that's enough.

ahh good old days with deathstar planets near jumpgates

i remeber as ugto was allwas camping out ross 148 system hehe any unlucky ic/kluth that came thrugh the gate got slaugter by 3 planets just inside the gate

mind at that time kluth defence was actuly shooting somebad ass am torps that realy hurt, one wolly from a planet and any dred was toast.

so i was allways building those heavy kluth def on those 3 planets backed by missile sysems / those realy hurt at that time to.

anyone rember cloaked(real cloake) ugto ships hehe

i selecetet a few screens

to show for those that never seen them before

the (first) old mv:

cloudbombing for real men
note at that time mirv bombing was only used as last resort when targets proved to difficult to take intact and took planing to do, notice the small fleet bombing and that was just a small task force you neded + 3 ships at least for cover and protection on any bomb run :

mines mines and more mines (and poor ugto)

on same note: platformes platformes and more platformes, can you see any player ships

priates have all the fun, they do !

and so does gaifen when hungry enugh

bugs bugs bugs:

well most effective gate blok ever seen

on a note anyone remeber when you could tractor beam jumpgates around minor bug from an Richard_TM (to)fast update

something went very wrong here (dictor with extra strong magnet emitter)

whats bad with this picture ? note at this point was thinking mirv as an solution.

inspired me to do this

happy new year everyone
