hows this for a nice idea ...:

bring back admiral server, WITHOUT shipyards, max players at 100, and 4 hour+ time limits... i bet this game would pick up REALLY fast if that happened...

i think this game was far better as a fast paced online space combat sim which is used to be.. the idea of the MV killed it for me and many on my friends who played it.. all i use darkspace for now is a chat lobby

comments plz...

Down with GTN!

Wait, wrong forum.

Umm.. sounds like a solid idea. DS used to be king of the "Quick Fix" which as any of us can attest, was never quick. (Those long nights of spacebar mashing, weve all been there)

Good plan? Hell yes!

with a 4+ hour time limit, might as well leave SYs in, and with SYs removed that just leaves gate spawnable ships, namely scouts and frigates

really cant get the sort of seperation you're looking for (all ships from the gate, no need for a shipyard) with out a patch and the mv and scenario will be the same in that regard

I think it's good, except the part where Shipyards are removed.

Want to know what would make the game even more of a quick fix? Prebuilt planets

ok then.. SY stay.. but make ships really cheap and the preq for SYs less
it would still be a hell of alot beter than the MV

Even the MV was better without shipyards.

Added real purpose to an assault on a hostile system.

Anything had to spawn from home gate, move the fleet to attack. If you lost a ship, and didnt have a direct system link from the Home System, you respawned at the Home JG again. If you had attacked properly and controlled your route. You could respawn in the closest friendly system.

None of this cap one planet, SY it and spam ships till the server restarts crap thats going on today.

coldfury posted a forum in beta answering that problem, he suggested a transit system, which i think would work in the MV, and make the older vets happier with the sy status, only one per system in his idea, and none near a planet...

I made that same suggestion around a year ago. Tael seemed to take some interest and then.. boom. Nothing.

Think Crim said it best, nothings being done, so were wasting time even throwing out ideas.

Oh well.

hat still doesnt solve the fact that there is about 30 players who actualy still pay for this game.. 30 players in a large MV is kinda lame.. put them onto admiral and the whole game gets a little less big.. confined to a single system ad ull find the action actually gets good..

darkspace is no longer the massivly multiplayer game it shud be.
